Sleeping is an important part of life and we spend almost a third of it sleeping. The quality of sleep, the position and the time we spend sleeping in the day is really important as it can prevent or cause different health issues.
Although it might look harmless the position in which we sleep can change a lot of things and not every position is the best.

Pain in The Shoulders
Pain in the shoulders immediately after you wake means that you need to avoid sleeping on the left or right position. The best position to sleep in in order to avoid this pain would be on the back since sleeping on the stomach can also cause uneven shoulders. Using an orthopedic pillow can also improve the posture and balance the shoulders.
Bad back pain can happen because of many reasons and one of the most important ones is that you need an immediate mattress change. Once you change it you may feel a slight change for the better. One other thing you can do is to put a smaller pillow under your knees in order to straighten the spine and reduce some of the stress off the tendons. Sleeping on the back is the best position if you want to soothe this pain.
Sleeping on the back is the best position if you are experiencing neck pain. Make sure you use and sleep on an orthopedic pillow and when you sleep put both hands under your head. This may help reduce neck pain and the pillow is extremely important to since it has to be the right height. The right height for any pillow is shoulder height.
Trouble Falling Asleep
A bad bed and pillow can have an effect on the way you sleep. Insomnia and troubles falling asleep may happen due to many other factors other than bedding. Any screens and tablets that are on radiate x-rays and cause trouble sleeping. Also, caffeinated drinks and certain foods can make falling asleep that much harder. Avoid these things in order to get some quality sleep.
Sleeping on the stomach may be the worst position for this issue as it interrupts with the respiratory system. Sleeping on the side is the best solution for snoring and make sure you use soft and multiple pillows.
Tightened muscles and leg pain can be a problem due to some injury, nerve damage and so on. In the night, this problem only grows worse and you have to make sure that you have the proper support for them. Consult your doctor if you experience any extremely severe issues and pain during the night. Leg pain and cramps can be soothed in the night by putting a pillow beneath the knees and legs in order to improve circulation.
Heartburn can be fixed by sleeping on the left side of your body. This side can prevent the content from the stomach of going back into the esophagus and thus cause heartburn.
