8 Foods You Should Never Eat If You Have Joint Pain

Joint pain can be different depending on the individual and the pain can grow from mild to severe and it can be acute or chronic. The common factors that influence it are arthritis, gout, injuries, broken or dislocated bones and lupus.

Other than using some remedies to help soothe the pain you should be informed about what foods you should and should not eat in order to prevent further aggravating the situation.

Here are some types of food that can irritate and cause more inflammation:

  1. Sugar

Sugar is the greatest enemy and the more you eat it the more addicted you become. Sugar can greatly influence joint pain because processed sugar trigger the inflammation messengers and cause further pain. Avoid all processed sugars and soda, carbonated drinks in order to prevent worsening of the situation and weight gain.

  1. Alcohol

Alcohol does not have a bad side effect only on the liver but on the whole body. For instance the beer contains purines and they are converted into uric acid in the body and that leads to joint pain and gout.

  1. Refined Carbohydrates

Under refined carbohydrate you should put all the white flour products like breads, crackers, white rice and many types of cereals. These foods have a high glycemic index and they can fuel inflammation and cause obesity and other chronic conditions.

  1. Red and Processed Meats

Both of these meats contain urines and nitrates that can aggravate the pain and influence the inflammation. These substances can worsen the condition and can also boost the risk of cancer.

  1. Dairy Products

If you are suffering from joint pain the best thing to do is to lower the dairy product intake to a minimum. According to many studies a lot of adults are having problems digesting milk and other dairy products and some people are completely lactose intolerant. That is why dairy can fuel inflammation.

  1. Salt

The table salt today is very refined and that means that it contains pesticides and other chemicals that strip the salt away from its many useful minerals and nutrients. This salt is also added to a lot of things we can find in the market shelves and the amounts of salt are huge. That can reflect badly on the general health and can affect the fluid balance in the body. Replace your regular table salt with pink Himalayan salt.

  1. Corn Oil

Try to avoid corn oil and other types of oil that contain omega 6 fatty acids. This substance can lead to inflammation and that is why you should stay away from corn oil, grapeseed oil, salad dressings, peanuts and soy. Replace these foods with omega 3 rich food and oils like olive oil, falx seeds, pumpkin seeds and other nuts.

  1. Monosodium Glutamate

MSG id a flavor enhancing additive that can mostly be found in Asian food and soy sauces. This substance can really worsen the pain and trigger inflammation.
