Once you consume a slice of this apple cake, you will never want a slice of any other kind of cake.
This is a light dessert that will compliment any meal. This fruit cake is very simple to make and tastes amazing.
For the cake you will need:
- 1 frozen puff pastry
- 2 red apples
- one half of a lemon
- bowl of water
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 3 tablespoons apricots
- sugar icing
Begin by cutting the apples in half and then taking out the seeds. Cut the apples into thin slices. Fill a bowl half way full with water, then add the juice of half a lemon. Add the apple slices to the water and place in the microwave for 3 minutes.
Drain the water from the apples. In a separate bowl, combine the 3 tablespoons of apricots with 2 tablespoons of water. Microwave this for one minute, then stir.
Lay out the puff pastry, dust with flour and stretch it out. Use a rolling pin to do this. Cut into 6 equal strips, then spread each strip with the apricot mixture.
Layer the apple slices on top of this, then sprinkle with cinnamon. Roll up into a rose shape, place into a muffin tin, and bake for 45 minutes in a 375 degree oven. Drizzle with sugar icing when done.
