Officials of CDC have announced that it has been investigating an outbreak that infected six states since September 2015. CDC warns people to be careful in eating salads. The CDC states that there have been multiple victims associated with Dole packaged salads.
Packaged salads have been associated with an outbreak that infected:
- North Carolina
- New Jersey
- New York
- South Carolina
- New Brunswick
In connection with this outbreak, Dole Food Co. is pulling back a variety of salad products from 23 states in the United States and three provinces in Canada. According to the FDA, people need to avoid Dole packaged salads, at least for now.
According to an article in Food Safety News, listeria can kill humans. Listeria, linked to this outbreak, has few symptoms, including muscle pain, nausea, stiff neck, severe headache and high fever.
