1. There will be an increase in energy when coconut oil is added to coffee. Coconut oil has MCTs(medium chain triglycerides) in it.
2. These MCTs are not stored as fat in the body but rather used up very quickly. The calories in the coconut oil are converted to energy quickly.
3. Coconut oil can help to boost the immune system. About half of the fatty acids in coconut oil are Lauric acid, which is very potent in microbial properties. This lauric acid is used for treating the flu, the common cold, fever blisters, cold sores and genital herpes.

Begin by pouring a cup of coffee into the blender. Organic coffee is always better but it does not necessarily have to be organic. Add a teaspoon or two of coconut oil. You may also wish to add honey or a sweetener to this. Blend well until frothy and then serve. You can also add extracts such as peppermint or vanilla to change this recipe up a bit.
