Coffee has many great benefits. It is full of antioxidants and can help to prevent diseases, such as colon cancer. The antioxidants that are in coffee are also found in fruits. They are part of the genic acid.Coffee On an Empty StomachMany are now cautioning that when coffee is drank on an empty stomach, it can have adverse effects on the body. Many individuals claim that they can not survive the day without a cup of Joe to get them going.

However, research is now suggesting that coffee should not be drank on an empty stomach immediately after waking up.
Think about this. One cup of coffee that is black will stimulate the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the digestive tract if drank before food is consumed. This will be felt by those that suffer from gastritis.

While individuals that do not suffer from this might not think it is a big deal, those with a healthy stomach should think about hydrochloric acid. This is what is used to decompose food in our stomachs. This may make it really hard to decompose proteins after heavy meals.
Now this may cause some health issues. Irritation, bloating, and inflammation of the intestines are seen, but more importantly, it can cause colon cancer. Researchers are now saying it is best to only consume coffee one full hour after an individual has gotten up, and after something, such as a piece of bread, has been eaten.

Never consume coffee immediately after waking up, as the cortisol level in the body will rapidly increase. Cortisol is responsible for promoting alertness and the biological clock.

Coffee on an empty stomach will increase the likelihood of bloating, vomiting, and cause an increase in acid. In order to alleviate this, if you need coffee first thing in the morning is to place some milk in the black coffee.
