Many of us love to put ketchup on our burgers or fries as it is the most used condiment in America.
But store bought ketchup is full of stuff that our bodies do not need. Most of them contain high fructose corn syrup, which is modified sugar.
It is made from corn, which is then modified into a sugar.

High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is not natural in any way. There is not any nutritional value in HFCS either.

There are many kinds of ketchup’s on the market that do not have sugar in them, or that are organic. However, these kinds of ketchup are often very expensive.
The alternative is to make your own ketchup at home.
Here is the list of ingredients that you will need:
- 1 cup organic Tomato Paste
- 1 Tablespoon raw organic honey
- 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar that is raw and unfiltered
- ¼ teaspoon mustard
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ cup water
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder (optional)
Place all the ingredients in a bowl. Stir until they have combined and have the consistency of ketchup.
Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator.
