Summer is here and that can mean some individuals will get white spots on the skin. These white spots are commonly referred to as tinea versicolor. This is a skin disease that is fungal that happens during the summer months.
White spots will begin to appear on the body, usually seen on the neck. The white spots can easily spread if they are not treated.
The main reasons why one will develop tinea versicolor is due to oily skin, sunbathing, increased sweating, spending time in warm or hot climates that have a high humidity, and a weak immunity.
Should you develop tinea versicolor, do not despair. The following are all natural remedies that can be used to safely and effectively treat the white spots.
1. Turmeric can be used on the body to treat tinea versicolor. Begin by mixing a few drops of water with some turmeric The yellow spice mixture can then be applied to the skin where effected and left on for half an hour and then rinse off with warm water.
2. Tea tree oil should be mixed with olive oil in a bowl. Use one tablespoon of olive oil and a few drops of tea tree oil. Mix well then dab on with a cotton swab. Leave on for a few hours for this to react to the skin.
3. Probiotics can be taken to cure the white spots. Probiotics are found in yogurt. Simply apply yogurt to the effected area and leave sit for a bit, then rinse off with water.
4. Garlic is a great method to get rid of tinea versicolor. Begin by cutting one clove of garlic in half then rubbing it over the skin that is effected. It can tingle slightly but this is a normal reaction. Leave the garlic on the skin for 15 minutes, then rinse with water.
