We do not want to bring concerns, but when your dog licks your face, you can have serious health risks. So far, most people think that dog’s mouth is cleaner than human’s mouth. Unfortunately it is a myth because dogs do not brush your teeth like humans and they often eat junk.
This fact confirms that they can provide a lot of harmful bacteria on us, when we get a lick on our face. Some cases of tuberculosis are caused by a dog licking and in 2013; a child was infected with TB as a result of dog licks.
Another reason for us to avoid the dog saliva is Porfiromonas pathogen. This skin pathogen is commonly transmitted through dog licks and this is actually a pathogen that causes gum disease in dogs and gingivitis in humans.
Never allow dogs to lick our wounds because they can give us a nasty infection.
