Dandelion flowers are known as weeds that spoil views of the garden, but for me, they are magical flowers because they are a powerful healer for skin. Dandelion is very effective when used to treat a variety of skin problems such as rough skin, burns, chapped, and also acne.
By combining the flowers with coconut oil then you can have a super moisturizer suitable for all skin types.
Dandelion as a food source
Dandelion is a source of food for pollinators. When I harvest dandelion from my backyard, I do not harvest entirely, since I left some of them to let them remain capable of growing.
Dry dandelion in the sun for a while after the harvest to give the opportunity for bugs to get out of them. If you do not have sunshine then you can use an electric dehydrator.
Ingredients of Dandelion Coconut Cream
¼ cup of dried dandelion
½ cup of coconut oil (organic)
A few drops of lavender essential oil (optional)
How to make:
The first step is to heat the coconut oil and after oil melts then you can add dried dandelion flowers. You can let the flowers steep in the oil for 2 hours (use low heat). Make sure that everything is not escaping.
Once two hours have elapsed, turn off the heat and allow the herb to cool. Strain flowers of coconut oil and you will have a bright coconut oil, as bright as a dandelion! You can add a few drops of lavender oil and then store the herb in the refrigerator.
When you want to use, take your dandelion-coconut oil potion out of refrigerator and let it stand for a while at room temperature and then apply it directly on your skin. You can use the herb as balm on your lips, elbow, dry feet, as acne cream, and you can even apply it as shaving cream.
