Niaouli – analgesic, antiseptic and antibiotic from the South Seas

Niaouli (Latin Melaleuca quinquenervia) is a species of trees that grow in Australia, New Caledonia and the neighboring territories.
Like its relative Melaleuca quinquenervia, it is an evergreen plant with spongy bark that peels off.
Spear has a very aromatic leaves ashen and white flowers on a long stalk.
Essential oil is niaouli in Europe up until the 17th century, but before that was much appreciated by the local population.
The locals have it applied to reduce high temperatures, healing wounds, stop diarrhea and relieve rheumatism.
Niaouli`s oil is obtained by steam distillation of the fresh leaves and twigs.
Oil is a rare and pale yellow to dark yellow, depending on the proportion of copper in the soil.
It has a strong smell and bitter with a hint of camphor.
The main components of this oil are alpha phellandrene, limonene, alpha pinene, beta-pinene, gamma-terpineol, linalool and piperiton.



The healing properties of oils of niaouli

Niaouli stimulates many processes in the body .
It improves blood circulation , secretion of hormones and enzymes, and activates metabolic processes , including absorption , digestion and elimination of superfluous matter.

Famously the analgesic properties.

It is effective against headaches, toothaches , earaches , muscle and joint pain, pain from strains, sprains and rheumatism .
Niaouli oil is effective against respiratory diseases such as colds , runny nose, blocked sinuses and bronchitis .
This oil relieves airways by dissolving the buildup of mucus in the nostrils , sinuses, throat, bronchi and lungs.
In the treatment of respiratory tract commonly used inhalation .
Fill a large bowl with hot water and fill it with two drops Niaouli`s oil and a eucalyptus . Cover your head with a towel and inhale the steam.
After inhalation stir 10 ml soybean oil , five drops Niaouli`s oil , two drops of eucalyptus and a drop of myrrh .
Rub the mixture of oil on the chest, sinus area , temples and neck.



Antibiotic properties of niaouli

Niaouli is regarded as a strong antibiotic and antiseptic so it aromatherapists and phytotherapists prescribed for diseases of the urinary tract and vaginal infections.
Since it kills bacteria, fungi and other microbes, is used to clean wounds, and facilities.
An additional advantage is its ability niaouli destroying or dispersing insects, with the exception of cockroaches and a few hardy species.
To protect against airborne viruses, and insects make a room spray.
Mix 0.3 liters of warm water with 5 ml niaouli and pour into the spray.

This is a great article. I work with a lot of autistic children and having a natural antibiotic instead of a pharma will be very valueable since the flora in their small intestines are already compromised. Thanks for the great post!
