The dandelion root is a famous condiment that has a lot of medicinal and healing properties that have been used ever since ancient times.

The flowers of the dandelion root can be made into a syrup that can purify the blood and threat a persistent cough. The stem can treat some stomach issues, aid in digestion, regulate the metabolic rate and even treat diabetes.

Whenever you attempt to use dandelion remember that is it highly important when you harvest it. The best season is from April and spring in general and remember to harvest and pick dandelions in a place that it is not polluted.

Dandelion Tea Recipe

You can make dandelion tea out of dandelion leaves that are previously dried, chopped and minced. You need ½ teaspoon from this mixture and mix it in 1 cup of warm water and enjoy the tea and the benefits it has to offer.

Dandelion Syrup Recipe

For the syrup, you will need:


  • 400 dandelion yellow flowers
  • 4 sliced lemons
  • 4 sliced oranges
  • 3 liters of water
  • 2 cups of sugar

Mix all the ingredients together in the water and make sure they are in a pot that can be closed with a lid. Secure the pot and leave the mixture to sit for 24 hours or more. Once it does add the cups of sugar inside it and boil this mixture for 30 minutes.

When the mixture gets thicker and resembles a syrup remove it from heat and let it cool. Transfer it into securable jars, preferably glass and use it for bronchitis, coughs, colds and flu.

When you consume dandelion root in any form you do not only treat the previously mentioned issues but you treat the whole body.
