We all know that processed foods are full of not only chemicals but toxins. Organic foods are much better for the body. We buy many things from the store but never think that we can easily make them at home ourselves.These include such things as condiments like ketchup, mustard, salad dressings and sauces. However, no matter how much we like dipping our French fries into ketchup, or smothering our burgers with it, we need to realize that it is a bad option for our bodies.
This is because it contains HFCS(high fructose corn syrup).
One thing that you should always do is to check the label of your ketchup. Heinz ketchup is really dangerous for the body, and can be really toxic for the body. Reading the label, you will see they list the ingredients that are used the most first.
Heinz ketchup contains tomato concentrate from red ripe tomatoes, distilled vinegar, high fructose corn syrup and other ingredients. Notice this is the third ingredient listed. The forth ingredient listed is corn syrup, which is essentially the same thing as HFCS.
But why would Heinz do this? Maybe to trick you into thinking that corn syrup is healthier then the HFCS? Or if they list these two ingredients as separate, then the HFCS is not listed in as high of an order. Because if they had realized these two were essentially the same ingredient, the ingredients list would have been in this order:
High Fructose corn syrup, tomato concentrate, distilled vinegar…By labeling the ingredients in the first manner, they can deceive one into thinking that this ketchup is healthier then it really is.
Now onto the vinegar. Did you catch that they are using distilled vinegar? Many do not realize that most vinegars come from genetically modified corn, which is not the healthiest ingredient for us to be eating.
The last ingredients that are listed on the ingredients are spices. This includes salt, spices, onion powder and natural flavorings. The salt that is used is a cheap form, which causes high blood pressure, mineral imbalances in the body, and are very toxic to the body. This can lead to many health issues if consumed on a regular basis.
There is not anything good listed in the ingredients list. There is not any fiber or proteins. The ingredients list is basically sugar and sodium. Looking at the ingredients list you will see that 7% of the daily recommended amount of sugar is consumed just by eating 1 Tablespoon of this kind of ketchup. This is the same for the sodium count.
In conclusion, the three main reasons that you will not want to eat Heinz ketchup again is because it is loaded with high fructose corn syrup, the ketchup has no nutritional value in our daily diets and it is full of sugars and distilled vinegar.
