Bras are worn to keep a female’s breast in place. However, scientist are now saying it might not be in the best practice to wear a bra. October 13 is best known as National NO Bra Day. This day is used to bring awareness to females and to think about the effects the bra has on them.
Bras were a great invention, especially for those that are rather large. A 15 year study was done on the effects of bras, conducted by Jean Denis Rouillion.
Three hundred and thirty woman participated in the study, with the ages of 18 to 35 years old. The study has shown that bras do nothing to support the chest, help with back pain, nor do they reduce premature sagging.
Some in the study even stopped wearing a bra during the time of the study. Results seen were a 7 millimeter lift in the nipples. In fact, Rouillion stated this:
“Medically, physiologically, anatomically, breasts gain no benefit from being denied gravity. On the contrary, they get saggier with a bra.”
Rouillion also says that bras may also disrupt the circulation in the chest area. Collagen can also be increased if younger woman do not wear bras, which will result in a larger elasticity, which will help improve the elevation of the chest.
