Bananas are a wonderful fruit as they contain many nutrients that are needed for the body.  They have a sweet flavor that makes them wonderful in desserts, and are great to mush up for babies.  They are a great portable snack.  But what is surprising to know is that even after you eat them, you can still use the peels!

The Great Uses for Banana Peel

Here are some great ways to incorporate bananas peels in your household.

Banana peels can cheaply whiten teeth. Why spend extra money on the ever popular whitening strips when a banana peel is all you need?

The peels have citric acid which will help to safely bleach the teeth.  The salicylic acid in the peels will also help make plaque disappear.  Brush your teeth, the rub the white part of the banana peel on the teeth for 2 minutes daily.

The banana peel can also remove warts.  The high potassium content in the banana is what is most likely what causes this.  Rub the inside of the peel on the wart.  One may also mash up banana and apply to the wart.

Chicken can also stay juicy when using banana. Skinless chicken breast tend to be dry when grilled.

However, if you take a banana peel and place on the chicken breast while grilling, it will act like a second skin, keeping the meat juicy.

One may also shine their shoes or even silverware with banana peels. To polish a pair of shoes, one can remove the strings from the banana peel and rub it gently over the shoes.  Then use a soft cloth to buff the shoes.  To polish silverware, just use the same method.

You may also make a fly trap to get rid of these pesky creatures.  The sweet smell of the peel will draw the flies to it.  Just tap some holes into a yogurt container, then place the peels inside, and cover with the lid.  The flies will be drawn to this contraption.
