Using Manuka Honey to Treat Diabetes, Inflammation and Cancer

Honey is enjoyed by many individuals. In many cultures around the world, honey is used not only as food, but also as a medicine.  In New Zealand, Manuka trees are grown.  Manuka honey is made from bees that feed off this tree.  This honey is a superfood, as it is antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and a great antiseptic.

Using Manuka Honey to Treat Diabetes, Inflammation and Cancer

This type of honey is very beneficial has a medicine.  Settler gave Captain James Cook a drink, which he later said  about the honey in his journal:  “Manuka leaves are used by many of us as tea, which has a very pleasant bitter flavor and aroma, but loses both when the leaves are dry.”

Manuka honey can be used to treat a variety of conditions.

-ulcers,
-colds,
-flu,
-skin disease,
-gastritis,
heartburn,
-protecting the gastrointestinal tract,
-disease related to the eyes and throat, and
diarrhea.

Manuka honey has also been used to treat some forms of cancer.

Manuka honey is more costly then regular honey. But the price paid is well worth it when conventional medicines can not do the trick.  It has a high sugar content that will create a waterless environment when applied to a wound.

This will allow any bacteria to not survive that is infecting the area.  There is also an enzyme found in this special honey called glucose oxidase which helps the antibacterial properties.  The honey will also help with the regeneration of new skin cells.
