Alternative remedies for Warts

What are warts?

The appearance of the warts (Verrucae) is a sign of a viral infection caused by at least 35 different members of the family of viruses called human papilloma virus (HPV). Common warts (Verrucae Vulgaris) occurs on the hands, but can appear in other parts of the body such as the feet (Verrucae Plantares).
Studies have shown that persons who have jeopardized immune system are far more susceptible to the appearing of warts in than healthy individuals with normal immune system.

Since it is a viral disease it can be transferred, so it is desirable to cover them. The treatment can be of different nature with cryotherapy with electrosurgical or laser intervention, while some warts withdraw themselves after a while.Herbal medicine can help in the treatment of warts.

Here are some tips from the for treatment of warts:

Birch (Betula, different species).
Birch bark is used to treat warts in different parts of the world like China, Scandinavia and USA. Birch contains two compounds, betulin and betulin acid they have antiviral properties.

Castor oil (Ricinus communis).
Castor oil contains salicylates that are able to be effective against warts.

Celandine (Chelidonium majus).
Celandine contains chelerythrine, sanguinarine and proteolytic enzymes. Fresh juice from celandine has an inhibitory effect on the virus responsible for the appearance of the warts. You can apply fresh juice once to twice a day during five to seven days on the warts for great results.

Fig (Ficus carica) and Pineapple (Ananas comosus).
Fig and Pineapple contains proteolytic enzyme. Active enzymes contributes for the softening of the wart, and maybe containment of the virus. Fig Juice, or the bark from the pineapple are suitable for treatment at warts. The tradition of the usage of fig juice dates from the time of King Solomon.

Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale).
Dandelion, and other plants that contain milky juice are suitable for the treatment of this disease. Dandelion among other things, in folk medicine is used to treat skin diseases, so you can apply milky juice of dandelion which is containing resin, rubber, amirin directly on the wart.

Basil (Ocimum basilicum)
This aromatic medicinal herb contains many antiviral compounds. One of the folk procedures is to break some leaves of basil and massage the the area of the wart or put broken basil leaves and put them over the wart and to wrap it with a bandage.

Chelidonium (Chelidonium majus).
In the treatment of warts as the most effective cure is the milky juice from chelindonium. The best method is to spread it over the wart for 3-4 times at intervals of 2-3 minutes. This procedure should be repeated 2-3 times a day. This intensive therapy will give you maximum result.

Treatment with potato juice.

This folk remedy against warts inhibits the activity of various infections and heal them. It is best to use the juice from red potato:
– Wash the potatoes well
– Put potatoes in blender or juicer
– Strain the juice through a thick gauze (twice)
– Drink 100 ml twice daily, half hour before eating
– Period of treatment: 2 months
– Contraindications: reduced stomach acid.
Potato juice is great for treating cancer, stomach ulcers and diseased liver.

Folk remedy for removing warts.

– 100 ml vinegar
– Zest of 2 lemons
Mix the ingredients and put them in a closed jar for a week.
Apply this this fluid on the warts several times a day.
After a few days warts will begin to dry and fall apart.
